Wristpect x The Clipse x Kid Cudi
January 21st, 2009Haven’t found time to update the blog/site for a little while; things have been hectic. History was made today.. Barack Obama - President of The United States of America. I bet if I asked you to repeat that very sentence outloud 2 years ago, you would have laughed. Is it really time for a new world order? Time will tell.. Regardless, it is a proud moment for human beings in general, and I’m excited about where we stand, and where we are heading..!
One of my partner’s in crime, and my emcee Sir Lancelot along with DJ Tilt are actually in Washington as I type this. Mediaphase (site will be up very shortly) booked them for Google’s aferparty for Obama’s Inauguration! It’s only 3 weeks into the year and the squad is already beginning to make history. We don’t sleep. You really shouldn’t either..
So as I was saying, we’re just about 3 weeks into the year, and it’s going to be a great ‘09..
This past Thursday I got to re-connect with The Clipse (Malice, Pusha T, DJ Rick Geez). Last time I was with them was in May of 2007 when I opened their concert here in Toronto.
Almost 2 years later, we met up again..
Last Thursday/Friday was a hectic 40 hours.. It went something like this:
I met up with DJ Rick Geez & Pusha T at the hotel. We discussed the Bridging The Gap Mixtape movement, and it’s now official - Volume 4 will be Hosted by The Clipse, co-starring N.E.R.D. ! From Toronto, to Virgina, we stay building bridges and crossing borders. Pay attention!

After that, we took Rick Geez to the studio (see: 2 studios.. One of the 1200s at Remix was broken, so we had to relocate to another location) so he could record his mix show which he had to submit to the radio station in Virgina the next day..
Now by the time we got to the 2nd studio in the west end, it was already 11:30pm. He had to record an hour long mix, which brings us to 12.30 am..

Now in the midst of all this running around, I still had my club night in Guelph at Van Gogh’s going on.. The homies Tilt & Illiment were holding things down up there, but Lancelot and I still needed to go up and play our set before the night was over.. This is another 45 minute drive from Downtown Toronto lol
After dropping Rick Geez off back at the hotel after making sure he got his mixshow recorded, we made our way to Guelph.. We finally arrived there at 1.45am, and hopped straight on the tables! It was a takeover, even though it was a short set, the vibe was crazy - lights on at 2.30 am and no one leaving the club till 3 am type of vibe. I love those nights..! We are out there every Thursday at Van Gogh’s 2nd Floor - $2.50 drinks & $100 Grey Goose. Come through.
By the time I got home it was 5 am.. 4 1/2 hours later I was up and on the way to Seneca College to do a sound check. Famous was opening The Clipse show (they had two shows in one day, an early and a late night at Circa), and I was DJ’ing his set. Ran into Malice, Pusha, Ab-Liva there once again:

After that it was off to Livestock, where they were promoting their new Play Cloths line:

While kicking it at Livestock, Kid Cudi passed through as well.. He’s a real humble dude & hopefully I will be able to bang out a mixtape with him around summer time.. Here are some more photos courtesy of PhotoWill:
Straight after that it was off to another out of town club gig in Waterloo.. Got home at 5am again.. 4 1/2 hours of sleep every 48 hours. That’s how it goes sometimes.. Till next time.. Peace!
