On Tues, Dec 6th I played a set at NYC’s exclusive Boom Boom Room (located on the 18th floor of The Standard Hotel) alongside DJ’s Sean Glass & Brendan Fallis. The room itself was beautiful with an amazing view of the city, and there weren’t that many people there.. The vibe was really laid back and musical and we had fun with it. This year’s Halloween Weekend was pretty crazy.. On Friday Oct 30 we were at Toronto’s biggest Halloween costume party inside Liberty Grand with over 5000 people in attendance.. The next day (Saturday, October 30) we flew to PEI for the first time (Eastern Canada) to play The Wave at University of PEI, along with our drummer – JB Allen. This party was a smash… Thus brings us to Halloween night, Sunday Oct 31. We took an evening flight back to Toronto which got me back just in time to play a set at TIME Nightclub, alongside my dude DJ Tilt. Another Halloween weekend, another series of good parties.. Wristpect x Blackberry x Maritz Canada Deliver ‘Torch’

Mobile Industry Awards 2010 ‘Best Manufacturer of the Year’, Research In Motion and their award winning BlackBerry brand teamed up with the 2010 Toronto DJ of the year Wristpect, to launch the brand new and highly anticipated Blackberry Torch device in Canada.  Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver & Montreal held the only North American events of their sort.

Alongside Maritz Canada, Blackberry recently held national launch events for their Torch device, entitled the ‘Influencer’ and the ‘Rep’.

The invite-only ‘Influencer’ event attracted over 200 high profile Blackberry users to experience the new Torch device. The Rep event was an extremely successful gathering of 400 enthusiastic sales associates who received Torch devices at each of their respective locations. The soundtrack for these events across the country was provided by DJ Wristpect, who also creatively used the Torch devices to deliver his performance.

On May 20 – 24, I was out in LA playing some dates in Hollywood w/ my dude Sir Lancelot. We were at Cabana Club on Thurs, Beachwood Fri, Marbella Sat, and Empire on Sunday! Big shouts out to the man DJ Mike Danger for everything as usual – he is that dude! Between the club gigs, we connected with DJ Skee at his studios, caught up with the homies at Orisue, went by Mad Lion’s studio, did some shopping and ate a lot of food.. In the next 21 hours, I need to wrap up a mixtape, pack, play a gig in Hamilton, play a party in Niagara, and then head straight to YYZ [Toronto Pearson Airport] to catch a flight to San Jose, Costa Rica via Charolette.  I need to be at the airport in Toronto for 4am on Friday morning, and it’s now 7am on Thursday morning.. I swear I’ve lost all sense of time these days. Oh well, on to the next one…

I’ll be able to get some rest when I get into Costa Rica on Friday; the hotel we’re staying at definitely looks relaxing.. The whole reason I’m there is for ‘Electro Fest’ - a huge event in San Jose which features Bands & DJs from around the world [France, Canada, Panama, Costa Rica, etc]. I’ll be DJ’ing for ‘Let’s Go To War’ and probably playing a set later on as the party goes till 8am.

I’ll get to chill out and enjoy the Country on Sunday and hopefully get to check out some beaches and rain forests.

I’ll be back in Toronto late Monday Night/Tuesday Morning, and will drop the Clipse Mixtape on Tuesday evening, before leaving for a 7 day West Coast Canada Tour on Wednesday, December 2nd..

So I’m usually used to opening for, and playing alongside other DJs. This was the first time I booked an international DJ, and actually threw the show, as well as DJ’d it.  Despite all the stress and headaches, the production turned out crazy, and I thank everyone who was either involved, came out, or supported in one way or another.  Dude is quite an intense performer.. Steve, I don’t know how you do it day in & day out man lol.. Here’s some random clips of the night.

So.. Drake drops another classic mixatpe [So Far Gone].  My hypeman aka Sir Lancelot also happens to DJ, and is real nice on the edits, and often saves me a lot of headache/time by making me custom edits (whether its hip hop, rock, r&b, house, electro, country, etc – he’ll smash it).  He edited Drake’s entire So Far Gone tape – clean and dirty so you radio DJ’s can run joints you never did before. Don’t say we don’t hold you down – it’s all about the DJs!! Lancelot whatup – you killed this one man!
