Last weekend (May 28 - June 01), The Stylus Group held the 5th Annual Stylus Spinfest & DJ Awards. The weekend’s events & Monday’s award show brought together & celebrated the deejays, artists, producers, labels, and individuals who help shape and develop Canada’s urban music scene.
Last year I won ‘Canadian Club DJ of the Year’ and thanks to your support, I was nominated for 3 awards this year (Club DJ of the Year, Toronto DJ of the Year & Mixtape of the Year) & ended up taking home 2 - Toronto DJ of the Year & Mixtape of the Year! I suck terribly at acceptance speeches and never remember to say what I want or thank the people I want to, so here goes..

Toronto DJ of The Year
Big thank you first and foremost to my parents, for being supportive of me quitting the corporate 9-5 grind to focus on DJ’ing back when it was not looking so promising.. The fact that they let me to pursue my passion at such a young age says a lot and meant a lot to me, and I’m always thankful for that. Thanks to my girl, for being so understanding and supportive as well, and of course, my entire team.. My emcee, Sir Lancelot (we consistently shut parties down together), Mediaphase, all the promoters & corporate clients whom I’ve worked with, everyone at FLOW 93.5 FM, my sponsors (IdeaLL, Orisue, Ransom, Ortofon), Stylus Group, Marc Ecko Watches and finally everyone who comes out to the parties, downloads the mixtapes/podcasts & continues to show love and support in general.. Much thanks!

In the next 21 hours, I need to wrap up a mixtape, pack, play a gig in Hamilton, play a party in Niagara, and then head straight to YYZ [Toronto Pearson Airport] to catch a flight to San Jose, Costa Rica via Charolette. I need to be at the airport in Toronto for 4am on Friday morning, and it’s now 7am on Thursday morning.. I swear I’ve lost all sense of time these days. Oh well, on to the next one…
I’ll be able to get some rest when I get into Costa Rica on Friday; the hotel we’re staying at definitely looks relaxing.. The whole reason I’m there is for ‘Electro Fest’ - a huge event in San Jose which features Bands & DJs from around the world [France, Canada, Panama, Costa Rica, etc]. I’ll be DJ’ing for ‘Let’s Go To War’ and probably playing a set later on as the party goes till 8am.
I’ll get to chill out and enjoy the Country on Sunday and hopefully get to check out some beaches and rain forests.
I’ll be back in Toronto late Monday Night/Tuesday Morning, and will drop the Clipse Mixtape on Tuesday evening, before leaving for a 7 day West Coast Canada Tour on Wednesday, December 2nd..
*Edit - I’m still working on this mixtape & appreciate your patience!*

Official “Bridging the Gap: T.O. to V.A.[Hosted by The Clipse]” Fully Wholly by creative genius Bryan Espiritu.
“Fuck you, we’re from T.O.”

Today marks the official launch of the “He’s The King, I’m The DJ” mixtape project and UNDRCRWN is honored to have loaned thier influence to the latest creation by Philadelphia legend DJ Jazzy Jeff.
By blending popular favorites and rare gems-Jeff has masterfully created a new and exciting tribute mix that honors the King Of Pop. The music takes listeners on an emotional journey by opening with slow grooves like “Lady in My Life”, followed by a smooth transition into more uptempo classics. Included in the mix are exclusive remixes by Jeff!
UNDRCRWN was on board to add their signature caricature style to the mixtape cover art. Clever, nostalgic and from the heart- the artwork inspiration comes from the iconic Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith album “He’s The DJ, I’m The Rapper.”
